The difference between battery and free range eggs

Battery chickens are egg layers in a confined cage, they do not have any room to move and barely able to live a life that they can enjoy. There are usually four chickens per coop, but the number varies on the cage capacity. The chickens live in these cages and are never cleaned out and basically live in their own excrement. Battery chickens have a very poor life, they lose feathers and are not looked after. Most eggs that are available in the supermarkets today are produced by battery hens, unless the packaging says otherwise.

However, free range eggs are eggs produced by hens that are allowed to roam freely within a farm yard, a shed, or a chicken coop. They are led a different life to the battery chickens, the battery hens are treated unfairly but the free range hens live a life of luxury compared to the battery hens. Most free range eggs are allowed in and out of their coops/sheds, but they lay the eggs inside the coops. Free range eggs are regularly cleaned and cared for unlike battery hens. Some free range hens are not actually free, they are crammed into a muddy shed.

Was It A Ghost? 100 words
I was stuck. Couldn’t move. All of these ghost stories were scaring the life out of me! My mum was asleep, my dad was asleep, my sister was asleep. My heart was pounding, I could feel it in my leg. I tried to sleep but my pulse was disturbing me! I could hear my sister on her phone. I wanted to go and see her but she would just shoo me out! Suddenly, Silence! I could hear terrifying sounds from the lower floor. Should I scream!! I was breathing heavily. BANG! I sat BOLT upright and glared at my room. What is that?
Five card flickr.
With excitement I sat in the car waiting for the lights to change.  I couldn't believe that I was going to a concert and we had back stage passes.  I was going to meet The Lizards, oh by the way when I say the lizards i don't mean a cute, little reptile, I mean the incredible band The Lizards. Anyway I was going to meet them. Well before we ate obviously.
When me and my mum got to the restaurant we sat down and ordered. I had a delicious pasta bake and my mum had stuffed mushrooms, ewww. After that we went to the concert.
The concert was in a tall, black building. Happily I opened the great, heavy door and slipped inside.  There was a big chandler dangling from the ceiling.  As we sat down ,in our reserved seats, a lady walked passed, her face was as orange as a pumpkin.  I don't like pumpkins, once when I was asleep my brother tipped pumpkin guts all over me. When I woke up I was covered in it, and ever since then I just hate pumpkins!
When the opening act finnished a man came on and said " And now the act you have all been waiting for ........ THE LIZARDS!"
Everyone in the building screamed and so did I.  After they played me and my mum went back stage to meet them.  Craig , the lead singer, gave me a kiss on the cheek and a hug. I was so overwellmed, I fainted. My mum had to call an ambulance. I woke up as they lifted me on to the ambulance. They checked to see if I was okay and sent us on our way.  That was my first time on an ambulance, and hopefully my last....
Still in shock I opened the car door and sat in as my mum drove away.
That night I sat in bed thinking about my wild day.  I laughed.  The cold breeze bloow on my cut elbow, from fainting after craig gave my a hug. I shivvered and covered my self with my duvet. I put my head down on my pillow and tried to sleep but all I could do is think about the day I had.  I was going to tell everyone in school!

Frozen
Frozen is a famous film and book. It involves three friends on a ski trip, who unfortunately get stuck on a ski lift (without any one knowing). When one friend attempts to escape and save the rest, ends up with a broken leg and eventually gets eaten by mountain wolves. His friend then tries to do the same thing. After a few long, cold hours, he also gets eaten by wolves. The girl finally manages to escape the cold terrifying thought of wolves eating her alive. She is saved by sneaking away to a road when she's rescued after seconds of giving up.
This a horrifying book/film of everybody's ski trip nightmare. Unlike touching the void this is a fictional book. But similar stories may have happened.

  • A cheap sandwich (from the reduced section).
  • I would go to a cafe or bar and ask for a cup of water(dont think they would say no).
  • If they said no I would buy a cheap bottle of water.
.............If I was homeless that is what I would spend it on.

English homework touching the void.

The writer ,Joe simpson, structures the text to vary the tension by using similes or metaphors to create vivid sensations for example, “ Cold had long since won the battle,” this is a metaphor. This creates tension because it makes you think and makes you ask yourself questions.

Another way the writer creates tension is by short sentences or miner sentences used for effect for example, “so! It ends here. Pity!” This creates tension by making the reader think. It breaks the sentence up and makes you read it slower.

Punctuation that acts to slow down or speeds up the pace also creates tension, for example, “ reality had become a nightmare, and sleep beckoned insistently; a black hole calling me, pain-free, lost in time, like death.” this creates tension because its make you read it faster you want to know what is going to happen next.

Repetition of key phrases or words creates tension as well, for example, “ Bottomless. I thought idly. No they’re never bottomless. I wonder how deep will it go? To the bottom … to the water at the bottom? God! I hope not!” Like the punctuation it makes you want to know more and it makes you read it faster, this also makes you think.
